No. If you are not certified you can try Discover Scuba Diving with an instructor, or start a course with us. Certified divers are welcome to join daily diving and trips.
Yes. Many of our guests dive for the first time with us. You start in shallow water or the pool with a professional instructor who stays with you the whole time.
Course and intro prices include the equipment you use during training. For daily diving, equipment rental is 15 EUR per day if you do not bring your own.
Yes. For the PADI Open Water course you choose how you start. Option one begins from the boat at shallow Red Sea sites. Option two begins in the heated hotel swimming pool, then continues in the sea.
Yes. At Makadi Bay you can start your first training day in a heated hotel swimming pool, which is a comfortable way to learn the basics before the sea.
We recommend a gap of at least 18 to 24 hours between your last dive and your flight. Tell us your flight time and we will plan your dives safely.
We have three bases. Hurghada, in the Pharaoh Azur Resort, is best for daily boat diving and reef trips. Makadi Bay, in the Siva Grand Makadi, is best for shore diving, calm training, and the heated pool first day. Marsa Alam, in the Amarina Jannah Resort further south, has wild reefs, shore and boat diving, and rare marine life like dugongs and dolphins. If you are not sure, send us a message and we will help you choose.
Yes. Dive Red Sea is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort. Our courses are taught by professional PADI instructors and your certification is recognized worldwide.
Yes. Dive Red Sea is licensed by the Chamber of Diving and Watersports in Egypt, which sets the safety standards for diving operators.
Daily trips include tanks, weights, and transfers, and most full day trips include lunch and soft drinks. Marine park permission, equipment rental, and insurance are usually extra and shown clearly before you book.
All year. Water temperature ranges from about 21 degrees in winter to 29 degrees in summer, and visibility is typically 20 to 30 meters in every season. Winter needs a 5mm wetsuit, summer a 3mm shorty, and we rent both.
You send a booking request online or on WhatsApp, our reservation team confirms availability and the final price, and you pay at the dive center. There is no prepayment for standard bookings.
Yes. Transportation within Hurghada is included on boat trips, and Makadi Bay shore diving happens at the hotel house reef. For hotels outside these zones, tell us where you stay and we confirm the transfer with your booking.
Small. We keep a maximum of 6 divers per instructor or guide, and beginner training is often closer to one to one. Small groups are safer, calmer, and you simply see more.
Plan at least 18 hours between your last dive and your flight, and 24 hours to be fully comfortable after multiple dives. Book your diving days early in the holiday and keep the last day for the pool and the souvenirs.
Kids can try Bubblemaker in the pool from 8 years, join Discover Scuba Diving and junior courses from 10 years, and snorkeling trips welcome all ages. There is no upper age limit as long as you are healthy.
You complete a standard diver medical questionnaire before diving. If you answer yes to certain conditions, a doctor's clearance is required, so if you have a known condition it is easiest to bring a fitness to dive note from home.
Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, your certification card and logbook if you are certified, and some cash for park fees and extras. We handle everything else: tanks, weights, food, soft drinks, and rental gear if you need it.
Shore diving is shorter and more flexible. You walk in from the beach, so there is no long boat ride. It suits divers who want a relaxed dive or a few training dives close to the hotel.
Yes. The calm, shallow entry at the house reef is a comfortable place to learn and to build confidence after a break from diving.
No. You can rent full equipment for 15 EUR per day. Bring your own if you prefer.
